The medium red 2019 Brunello Di Montalcino Pietranera reveals aromas of black licorice, black cherries, balsamic herbs, and fresh tobacco. Medium to full-bodied, it's elegant on the palate, with fine tannins, and floats on the palate with fresh acidity and an even feel all the way through. It's a very appealing wine to enjoy over the coming 10-12 years.

The hot, astringent nose features aromas of tar, balsamic, licorice, black cherries and currants. On the palate, tart cherries and berries are sweetened by chocolate and tempered by candied orange peel and a saline streak. Acid bubbles around firm, dense tannins.

Remarkably pretty, the 2019 Brunello di Montalcino from Pietranera blends dusty rose with incense and spice, all giving way to dried strawberries. This is lifted and refined with pure red berry fruits, inner florals and tactile mineral tones that add traction toward the close. The 2019 tapers off long and staining, leaving grippy tannins to resonate as tart plum notes slowly fade.
